Local score
No. 18 of 141 cafés on r/brighton, from 27 locals across 21 threads.
100% would send a mate. Still recommended in 2026.
17 Grams turns up again and again on 'best coffee in Brighton' threads alongside Komodo, Loam and Ikigai, rated for its own locally roasted beans, strong espresso, and a proper breakfast/fry-up with outdoor seating. Prices are reasonable too, around £3.40-3.60 for a latte, with no extra charge for oat or split pea milk.

I could go…
Garden Cafe in North rd (pastries and cakes), 17 Grams (pancakes or fry up, quite relaxing place), the quirky Presuming Ed (open till 10pm), Salvage Cafe in Western rd (IMO great coffee and delicious cakes, plus homemade food, love the decorations). Aroma, family business (coffee cakes and scrumptious Arabic breakfast, family business so everything homemade,…
…over enthusiast. I'll add some notes for some of my favourites: * Ikigai (for pour over fanatics, delight at the huge collection of V60s ha) * Coffee at 33 (best bites, local roastery) * Triple Point (great selection of coffees from different roasters and outdoor seating) * 17 Grams (proper breakfast, outdoor seating, local roastery) * Bond St * Mogu Mogu (Japanese food, not sure if they do pour over yet but excellent light roast espresso)
