Seven Dials' Greek bakery — brilliant spanakopita, worth the queue

A well-loved Seven Dials bakery for Greek bakes, spanakopita and good-value coffee (an Americano for a couple of quid, a £3.20 large cappuccino), with staff described as sweethearts. Expect to queue at peak times and note limited, sometimes noisy seating, but locals rally behind it, especially against the Gail's that opened across the road.

What locals say

I’m going to sit here and smugly sip on my £3.20 large cappuccino from Hellenic Bakery (also everyone who works there is a sweetheart).

In general, I go for Gail's, with Flour Pot and Real Patisserie tied in second. Hellenic Bakery for broader, more savory stuff as well, and an honourable mention for Bind Street Coffee's baked goods - the cinnamon rolls are absurd, and will be the death of me.

I like Open Bakery in Kemp Town, any of the Real Patisseries or Hellenic Bakery at Seven Dials. Those are just some of the ones I've visited but I've always liked them. I don't actually live in Brighton so someone might have some better suggestions.
