Named again and again as Brighton & Hove's best burger, with branches in Hanover and on Portland Road; one regular fondly recalls the little care package of ketchup, napkin and wet wipe that comes with each order. It's not the cheapest burger in town, but reviewers say it's worth the extra.

Bangers off london road for pies. For high end fine dining Furna and the Fig Tree (Hurstlepierpoint) are my favourites. Vel for Indian food. Chilli Pickle and Hove Tandoori up there as well. Lickle more food van in tesco hove car park is the best Jamaican food I have found. Smoque grill is my favourite burger takeaway, but theres loads of good ones. We are spoilt for good food down here, so many decent places.

Uncle Sam’s still available at four locations. Honest Burger on Duke Street is a few quid more but significantly better quality. Martin’s Burger House on East Street is pretty close to a 1-for-1 replacement for Grubbs. There’s Smoque’s in Hanover and on Portland Road which is also pretty decent for the price.

I'll second smoque grill... Hands down best burger in town. Comes with a little 'care package' which always makes me laugh, with ketchup, napkin, wet wipe, etc. Amazing amazing…

VIP pizza is fantastic, great value as well. Agreed with smoque burgers, I miss living a short walk away from there and getting one on the way home from the pub.
