Consistently recommended for woodland walks, spring bluebells and the One Garden/Stanmer Village area with its cafes and cider brewery, easily reached by bus or train from the centre - one regular calls it 'underrated' with good amenities and signposting. Also good for off-lead dog walks and running, with a Friends group for conservation volunteering, though a couple of people flag cows grazing loose in the fields.

Walking in the woods around Stanmer Park, bonus points if you can find the meditation garden to the right of Stanmer Organics. Bacon and mushroom sandwich at the cafe in the village then back to town for some ket at the level.

Stanmer Park is underrated, IMO. Short bus or train ride from town and you can be walking in the woods 30 minutes later. All really well signposted with good amenities. Nice cafes, etc. at the centre (One Garden & Stanmer Village) to start or end in. Hole in the wall type coffee / ice cream place at the entrance,…
I live on the outskirts of Brighton so it doesn't affect me like it dose those living more central, I used to get involved when it was less about how much you could charge people to join in +I'm not one for crowded places in my older years I even avoid the one garden Brighton, Stanmer Park Saturday and Sunday because of the crowd's but I am commonly seen out and about on the south downs between Pyecombe to Lewes on my mobility scooter.
