Legally Blonde ends its tour at Theatre Royal Brighton this Christmas

Amber Davies plays Elle Woods from 15 December to 2 January. Seats start at £15.60 on some dates.

Legally Blonde The Musical finishes its UK tour at Theatre Royal Brighton, where it runs from Tuesday 15 December to Saturday 2 January. Amber Davies, the Strictly Come Dancing finalist and former Love Island winner, plays Elle Woods.

“I love Brighton. Honestly, to end the tour here is the greatest blessing,” Davies told the Argus.

Based on the film, the musical follows Elle from It Girl to Harvard Law School, “all in the name of love”, as the theatre’s listing puts it. This production comes from the creative team behind director Nikolai Foster’s Kinky Boots. George Crawford plays Emmett, Karen Mavundukure plays Paulette and Adam Cooper plays Callahan.

Davies told the Argus she would “take stage over TV every single day of the week because it’s an energy transfer”. After Brighton the production moves to the London Coliseum, from 22 March to 22 May, the paper reported.

Davies will not perform at the 2.30pm matinees on Thursday 17 and Thursday 31 December. At those, Elle is played by Hannah Lowther, who is Margot and the alternate Elle in the cast.

There are 23 performances. Evening shows start at 7.30pm and matinees at 2.30pm, with nothing on Monday 21 December, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. The show runs 2 hours 20 minutes with an interval.

When we checked ATG’s booking calendar on 18 October, opening night on 15 December was marked low availability and every other performance medium or good availability. Starting prices ran from £15.60, on dates including Christmas Eve afternoon and the evenings of 26 and 30 December, up to £59.28 for the Saturday 19 December matinee. ATG says starting prices may change with demand.
