What's on
Pier Pressure's vampire-hunting game has two more Saturdays at Preston Manor
The Slayers, a three-hour game of secret roles and escape-room puzzles, runs on 10 and 24 October from 6.30pm. Tickets are £49 a person.
Pier Pressure, the Brighton escape-room company, is running its game The Slayers at Preston Manor on Saturday 10 and Saturday 24 October, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Tickets are £49 a person.
The setting is a meeting of the Council of Vampire Slayers, and some of the people at the table are vampires. Brighton and Hove News sent a reporter to play it and described how a night goes. Everyone is dealt a card marked vampire or slayer. Players then split into groups for four rounds of escape-room puzzles, which the vampires try to sabotage. After each round the council sits back down, argues and votes on who it suspects. Then the slayers put on blindfolds while the vampires pick someone to kill.
Being voted out or killed doesn’t end your night. Eliminated players keep solving puzzles and joining the arguments.
Pier Pressure says it took inspiration from Werewolf, Blood on the Clocktower and The Traitors, among other games and TV shows, but the game isn’t affiliated with any of them.
You can book as a couple or a small group; if you don’t fill a session yourselves, you play alongside other people. Groups of 12 to 18 can arrange a private game, on other dates too. Drinks and nibbles are sold on the night.
