100% would send a mate. Still recommended in 2026.
A vegan fast-food kitchen operating inside The Hope & Ruin on Queens Road, serving kebabs, loaded fries, hot dogs and the famous "pengest poppers". Consistently named Brighton's best vegan junk food, often compared to What The Pitta for being greasier and more creative, though it's rich enough that one fan joked it gave them heartburn.
- Go for
- A greasy vegan kebab after a gig or night out
- Heads up
- Very heavy/greasy food, not for the faint-hearted
What locals say
2 for £17. Super hearty and flavoursome, absolutely recommend trying ethiopian food if you haven’t yet), - What the Pitta (very good kebab meat, nice and fresh), - Green Kitchen (serving every breakfast you can imagine, and their homemade bacon and seitan steaks are amazing), - Beelzebab (casual and creative vegan junk food and kebabs, with the pb&j fries being a highlight), - Iydea (healthy build your own plate type deal, with mains and sides, and a variety of smoothies and juices. Fully vegetarian and mostly vegan, very good value). Hope this helps, good luck deciding :)
Gonna throw in a wildcard and recommend a vegan kebab, beelzebab in the hope and ruin. They deliver on Uber eats. It’s actually really good, give it a go if you feel like trying something a little different.
For the best meaty vegan food in Brighton, including amazing loaded to the hilt (if you wish) hot dogs, go to the Hope and Glory pub on Queens Road, Beelzebab operates there.. it is A-MA-ZING. Pengest Poppers also a good choice.
Purezza in St James St (all vegan pizza place) Hope and Ruin in Queens Red (Beelzebab - all vegan fast food - hot dogs, kebabs, loaded fries, etc) Terre a Terre in East St (high end veggie place with many fab vegan options)
