A Bond Street bar blending pub, bar and club with a punky atmosphere, good pizza, craft beer and dancing, open until 3-4am at weekends. Long-time regulars are unhappy since a recent renovation stripped out the pool table and darts for 'weird fake plants,' changed the beer selection and pushed prices up, with several saying it's lost its old magic.
- Go for

…the corner in the Laines you have the Basketmakers/The Eagle. Going up into the North Laines you've got a bunch of small cool restaurants like fatto a Mano (pizza) and la hoza (burrito). Walking towards the seafront but still North Laines you have komedia (comedy club) Dead wax social is also a cool bar a bit further along from komedia, also serves good pizza. Bath arms in South Laines is in a cool location but I'd only stay for one before moving on. Down to the seafront. Left of the pier looking out to sea. Loading bars and electric arcade. Gaming bars, loading is my preferred.
…city centre. Quite small and can be hard to find a table The mucky duck - Dark, dank. Great locals (if a bit mental). Good beer choice. Basketmakers arms - Enough said by others here. An institution (although slightly worse than it used to be? Controversial) Wild card!: Dead wax social - A more "alternative" pub with a punky atmosphere and great music. Blends the line between pub ,bar and club. Good messy memories Hove: The watchmakers arms - My beloved. What a place, GREAT beer, friendly locals, no music and cheap (for a pub in Hove) Lion and Lobster - Quintessential Brighton…
…smoking cocktails that are fun. There are also just some cute cobbled streets that are nice to wander round. The North Laine area is also good for a range of quirky independent shops, cafes, pubs (I like the White Rabbit, William IV, The Prince Albert and The Eagle). Dead Wax Social is one of the bars that stays open latest, I think 2am on Saturdays, so I usually head there when the other pubs close. There’s an indoor vintage market thing called Snoopers Paradise that’s fun to explore – loads of random stuff in there. Any nerds (like me) might also enjoy Oliver’s Brighton, a…
…done up druids recently and made it a lot worse imo. similar thing they did to dead wax social. pool table and darts are gone, the selection of draught beer is different, all the decor is now weird fake plants, and it's of course way more expensive. i liked the druids when it was a dive bar you could pile into at 1am and not feel bad about it, but now it seems like a weird place to finish the…
