A consistently loved, upscale cocktail and wine bar (branches at St George's Place and Seven Dials) praised for special cocktails, rare gins, a quiet jazzy mature vibe, and attentive staff who remember regulars. Good for dates thanks to a snug up the spiral stairs and a courtyard at Seven Dials, though it can be hard to get a table on Saturdays without booking.

What locals say

It's ok guys, I got this one.....L'Atelier Du Vin Wine and Cocktail Bar. Really special cocktails, rare gins, excellent nibbles too and feels very private and hidden away. They even let you buy a bottle of something and keep it safe for your next visit. Charming joint.

Black dove in Kemptown does excellent cocktails with nice booklet explaining them and has a trendy pub…

Plotting Parlour for cocktails is a must. Or L’Atelier du Vin as a good alternative. Food is very broad down here. Flint House & Burnt Orange are both good but I’d add Cin Cin and, if you can stand to shift in to Hove, Fourth & Church. Failing that we have all the usual chains.

…1) Romantic meal with boyfriend (now Fiancé) at the Restaurant at Drakes. It was our first Valentines together, and they had Wagyu steak on the menu. Cocktails to start, lovely meal and finished off with drinks in the Charles Street Tap before going home. 2) Cocktails at L'Atelier Du Vin opposite St Peter's Church. Barman had served us a number of times before and instead of using the menu he just asked us what flavour profiles and drink type we were looking for and he picked something perfect for each of us. Brighton has left a lot of great memories but they have been probably my…
