A central lawn next to the Royal Pavilion, good for a stroll, a bench lunch, photography, or busking on a sunny day. Several commenters flag it as one of Brighton's dodgier spots after dark, citing muggings, rats and permanently closed public toilets. By day it's popular with tourists, families and people watching pigeons and squirrels.
- Go for
- A daytime stroll or bench lunch
- Heads up
- Reputation for muggings and being unsafe at night

…be difficult but it all depends on what you are into. Brighton has a vibrant music scene with good bands playing most nights. Hope and Ruin, Prince Albert and Grrrn Door Store are some of the best venues. The Laines are a fun area to explore local indie shops and pubs. Pavilion Gardens has a good art museum and the tour of the Pavillion is worth your time or just grab a blanket and chill out in the gardens. The seaside is always interesting with pubs and clubs along the seafront. There are some nice restaurants in Hove. Kemptown is a hippie Brighton with nice pubs and shops.…

As your eighteen you could go clubbing in Brighton, the Arch is a very popular venue with…

Pavilion Gardens and The Level crop up regularly, but they can occur anywhere that the offenders think they won't be challenged or noticed. It's generally, but not exclusively a city centre problem. Stick to well-lit, main routes where you can. Pay attention to who is around you. - You can protect yourselves by…
