The Biba Look: Photography and Fashion
Photographs from Barbara Hulanicki's archive of the Biba mail-order catalogues, many never shown in public, with a garment from each catalogue.
Brighton Museum’s new fashion exhibition is built from Biba’s mail-order catalogues. In the 1960s Barbara Hulanicki sold Biba clothes straight into people’s homes through a series of photographic catalogues, shot by Hans Feurer, Sarah Moon, Helmut Newton, Harri Peccinotti and Donald Silverstein.
The show hangs original photographs from Hulanicki’s own archive, and the museum says many have never been seen in public. Next to them is one garment from each of the six catalogues.
Entry comes with Brighton Museum admission, and members get in free. It runs until 21 March 2027.
