Booth Museum diorama and stores tours
Guided tours of the closed Booth Museum, 150 years after Edward Thomas Booth first showed his bird dioramas, with a look at the stores and the refurbishment.
The Booth Museum of Natural History on Dyke Road won’t officially reopen until February 2027, but it’s running guided tours at the end of October. This year is 150 years since Edward Thomas Booth first showed his bird dioramas to the public, in the halls of the Royal Pavilion. The tours take you round the museum he built to house them and into the stores, with an early look at some of the changes being made there.
Tours run on Thursday 29 October from 10am to 12pm and 3pm to 5pm, and on Friday 30 October at the same times plus 6 to 8pm. They cost £15 and are for ages 12 and up. The upstairs stores are up a narrow staircase and aren’t wheelchair accessible, but the main diorama tour is.
