Council asks the city how social housing tenancies should work
A survey on the city's new Tenancy Strategy, covering council and housing association homes, is open to everyone until Sunday 15 November.
Brighton & Hove City Council is writing a new Tenancy Strategy, and its survey on how social housing tenancies are run in the city is open until 11.59pm on Sunday 15 November.
The strategy covers homes let by the council and by housing associations. The survey asks about four things: how long tenancies should last, making the best use of the homes available, helping tenants keep their tenancies, and how housing providers work together across the city.
Anyone can answer. You don’t need to be a council or housing association tenant, though the council says any changes would only affect those kinds of housing.
The council’s Housing Strategy Action Plan for 2026 said it would consult registered providers, the housing associations and other social landlords, on a new Tenancy Strategy in September.
