Barbino's Mediterranean small plates now open at Dots on North Road
Dishes run from hot honey nuts at £4 to a pork T-bone at £21, in a space Barbino shares with The Botanist Coffee Co.
Barbino’s website says it is “now open with The Botanist Coffee Co at DOTS at 59 North Road”, calling it “our first permanent spot in central Brighton”. It serves small plates, low-intervention wines and cocktails.
Hot honey nuts are £4 and a green olive and oregano fougasse is £5.50. Duck pastilla comes with mooli ketchup (£9), and celeriac shawarma with toum and dukkah (£9). Spiced aubergine imam bayildi is £13, the fish du jour with ajo blanco, fennel and pickled grapes is £16, and a pork T-bone with red pepper romesco is £21. For pudding there’s a Pedro Ximenez crème caramel or madeleines with damson compote.
The wines come from France, Spain, Italy and Morocco. House cocktails are £13 and include a harissa margarita and a Casablanca carajillo made with Botanist espresso. The beers include a Dots lager and a Dots pale ale.
Barbino takes card payment only, and a 12.5% discretionary service charge applies. Restaurants Brighton had listed the opening for early October.
