The default answer for laptop work or studying in Brighton, thanks to plentiful sockets, big tables, staff who don't mind you nursing one coffee, and opening hours until 11pm. Also dog- and child-friendly with big gluten-free and vegan menus and a popular Wednesday quiz, though several people say the food itself is disappointing.

What locals say

Hey! I work at Alcampo Lounge a lot. It's noisy but if you have noise cancelling earphones it's fine. The staff there don't mind if you grab a table and don't order anything either, and there's plugs all over the place! I'm also in second year and work there all the time!

Alcampo Lounge is open til 11pm on London road, they are happy to let you sit and chill if you get a coffee etc, and they have sockets.

Child friendly pubs and dogs-allowed cafes might be worth a try. Alcampo Lounge on London Road maybe? Lots of room for a pram and I think I’ve seen people take their dogs in there.

…food at Alcampo Lounge is some of the most disappointing food I have ever had. Its always "Not bad enough to send back"
