Bruha on East Street gets glowing reviews for its Filipino food — ube/pandan shakes, honey-glazed wings, and dishes good enough that one Redditor proposed there — with several calling it their favourite spot in the city and praising the lovely staff and vegan/veggie alternatives. The recurring gripes are that it's pretty expensive and famously dim (people use phone torches to read the menu), and one diner had a genuinely bad experience with no heating and an unflagged whole chilli in their dish.
- Go for
- A memorable, if pricey, Filipino date night
- Heads up
- Pricey and very dimly lit — hard to read menu

BRUHA just off East Street is nice if you fancy something different - it's Filipino. Al Forno on St James Street for pizza. Mr Wang's on Queen's road for Chinese/East Asian hotpot. You select ingredients and soup spice level for your pot. It's something to sit down and socialise around for a long time. Meat…
I personally highly recommend Bruha. It’s Filipino food and it’s incredible. For sure a hidden gem. I proposed to my fiancé there a few weeks…
Bruha down East Street way does incredible Filipino food. Haven't been in a while though, so unsure if it's still open or still as good!
Bruha was tasty when I went but pretty expensive and SO FUCKING DARK! We had to use our phones to see the menu haha. Cocktails were peng and the milkshakes are delicious too.
