Regularly recommended for reliable Thai food - Jungle Curry and £9 takeaway curries with cheap beers get singled out, plus good vegan and halal options; the Brighton branch is said to edge out the Hove one. But it's a chain, and several locals dismiss it as overpriced and inauthentic, pointing instead to Namo or Suriya's for something more genuine.
- Go for
- Solid Thai curry without fuss
- Heads up
- Some locals call it an overpriced, inauthentic chain

Bincho yakitori does incredible Japanese tapas dishes and is, in my opinion, the best food in brighton for the price - not too expensive but delicious. Cin cin is great for very decent Italian. Other places worth checking out are Giggling Squid for Thai and Burnt Orange for amazing cocktails and tasty dishes.
…then as well. There are a lot of really nice restaurants so do a bit of research on Trip Advisor and book in at one for a nice meal. There are plenty of different cuisines catered for but some of my favourites are Chilli Pickle, Curry Leaf, 64 degrees, The Set, La Choza, Giggling Squid, Gingerman, Coal Shed, Salt Room, Riddle and Finns, Bus Stop, Silo, Market Restaurant. Brighton is fairly casual so you don't need to be dressed up. There are some good cocktail bars as well like the Plotting Parlour and Hotel Du Vin. There are also lots of good pubs serving nice craft beer if that's…
I’ve always enjoyed Giggling Squid & Street Thai. When we do Italian it’s usually VIP or Fatto but I was in Polpo a while back and was really impressed.
Giggling squid is a chain you can get anywhere. If you want a local Thai place try Namo. They have a restaurant on Ship Street so right by Giggling Squid, they also serve a more budget friendly option out of The Eagle. What are you looking for bar wise?
