Brighton-founded Neapolitan pizza chain with branches on London Road, Church Road/Hove and Preston Circus, consistently named among the city's best pizza alongside VIP and Franco Manca. Kids aged 10 and under eat a free pizza per paying adult, and most branches do Deliveroo. A few coeliac diners warn that small kitchens, especially at Hove, can't fully guarantee against cross-contamination.

Walk along the beach to Hove Lawns & head to the beach there. There is a public loo on the promenade so handy if you’re going to be down all day. Walk up to church road from there for supplies. Fatto A Mano for a takeaway pizza and a bottle of wine on the beach sounds…
Italian here, I tried a few so far, and my top one is from a little van called Passione Napoletana, it’s really really good. I think these days they’re at seven dials once or twice a week, but check their insta to see where they go VIP is also plenty good I think. Fatto a Mano and Yeastie Boys a little step below it. Franco Manca is cheaper and obviously different experience, but it’s always solid. Good stuff I had Nanninella on my list for ages but as you say they’re either closed most of the time, or some time ago only did takeaway, now instead they do seated only and…
This won’t help with the 11yo, but at Fatto a Mano, kids 10yo and under get free pizza (one pizza per kid per each adult dining). I know you said non-chain, but it’s a small (and local - started in Brighton) chain.
Naninella/Ventisei is always great, as is 500. Used to love Fatto, but haven't had one for ages as they had got really got lazy last time i went and it was pretty shit. There used to be an absolutely lovely little one down the other end of kemptown as well - by the cabaret club, when I lived there. Think it's a goner now though. Woodfire or something.
