Church Road restaurant that comes up constantly for romantic dinners and private dining (upstairs room for around 30), with a strong wine list and legendary hospitality according to regulars. It's in the Michelin guide and handles dietary needs like gluten-free and vegan unusually well, though a couple of reviewers found the hype didn't match their meal, calling it bland.

What locals say
We're really spoilt for choice in Brighton when it comes to up-market restaurants. Take a look at the menus of The Flint House, Burnt Orange, Tutto, CinCin or Coal Shed. If you want to be out further towards Hove, Wild Flor is excellent too. Have an amazing date night!
…Squid/Red Snapper/Lemongrass/Suriyas Relaxed vibe: Shelter Hall Honestly, Brighton has an absolutely excellent food scene and to think otherwise shows that your Dad doesn't know a whole lot about Brighton. If he wants super fine dining, then travel out to Hove for Etch, but Wild Flor in Hove is excellent also and has one of the best Wine lists in the city if that's his thing.
Try Wild Flor in Hove. They have an upstairs room that can hold 30ish, which you can reserve for a private event. The food there anx wine list is very good, it's good quality but not as expensive as some top end venues. I would highly recommend it.
’s just two of you. Palmito, also Hove, is an absolute belter but a very different vibe to Burnt Orange and miles apart from Etch in its style. It’s small and frenetic but I genuinely think you won’t get better food in Brighton or Hove. I heard nothing but great things about Wild Flor but we were disappointed when we eventually got around to visiting. But I reckon we just got unlucky as everyone raves about it. If I’m being honest, I had a similar experience with Burnt Orange. First time we went I thought it was pretty average (my partner loved it) but I gave it another go and loved it.
