One of Brighton's longest-running vegetarian restaurants, going since the 80s, with fans praising its pasta dishes and vegan/gluten-free options. Recent comments describe a real decline though - poor service, higher prices, and one thread citing reports of tanked food quality and staff mistreatment. Several locals reminisce fondly about the old canteen-style original before it became a pricier sit-down restaurant.

…tofu and they have a gorgeous pumpkin curry there as well. If you want more sushi related food then I can suggest moshimo, happy maki, itsu off the top of my head. Veggie food - if you’re looking for a fantastic meal for your 30th then I can highly suggest terre a terre or food for friends these are both top tier veggie/vegan restaurants and an absolute must visit if you want to be outstanded. Obviously it’s quite expensive but if it’s for a birthday I can imagine you wouldn’t mind. Absolutely make sure you book a table though. Ping pong - if you have your own paddle and balls…
Best fine dining vegan: Bonsai Plant Kitchen. Just incredible range of inventive dishes that give you that 'goddamn' moment. Reliable restaurant to take others to: Food For Friends. Some great pasta dishes there. Quirky: No Catch. A vegan fish and chip place. Chips are great, 'fish' is remarkably good. Good vegan options: Moshimo sushi, Halisco Mexican, Shanxxi…
…pretty big let down. To that end a reasonable vegetarian restaurant is a world of difference from a nice restaurant that serves one starter and a couple of mains that are veggie friendly. Places we've been that were reasonable, at a variety of price ranges Terre a Terre and Food for Friends. Both top end veggie restaurants. Probably the higher end of what you're looking for price wise Chilli pickle - Indian, up in the top price bracket again, but very good quality and lots of veggie choices Dos Sombreros - Mexican, been a few times. Nice vibe, good food. Casa Don Carlos - very…
These places weren’t great, but I personally miss them since I spent a lot of time there when I was a poor teenager. Bombay Aloo, all you can eat Indian for £4.95. And the original Food For Friends before it became all fancy and expensive.
