A go-to for special occasions in Hove — Redditors rate it for anniversary dinners, a posh-but-not-stuffy vibe, and a strong posh breakfast (full English through to eggs benedict). It has a private dining room with a terrace for groups, but a couple of people flag it as pricey and disappointing on vegetarian options.
- Go for
- A posh but relaxed date-night dinner
- Heads up
- Pricey, and vegetarian options can disappoint
What locals say
Ginger Pig is a nice place for a couples night out, The Urchin is also a nice pub but focuses on seafood so maybe not good for you. Forth and Church as others have suggested. Etch for MasterChef winning cuisine Wild Flor is also a really nice local restaurant and Cin Cin another Hove spot worth checking…
We tend to try new places rather than revisiting the same ones. However, there are a few we go back to again and again. For high end, all the Ginger restaurants are great - Gingerman, Ginger Pig and Flint House. I also really like Issac At. I’ve always been disappointed with 64 Degrees. Manjus is great for authentic Indian. Family run. Kitgum is a lovely family run Ugandan Indian. The Greys and Haus on the Hill do amazing food. greys is more Mediterranean and Haus is Bajen.
We had one in the Ginger Pig (Hove) and it was great. You can hire the private dining room as well at no extra cost, just a minimum spend which you’ll easily do with 30 people.
I'm always disappointed by the vegetarian options at Ginger Pig. My friend always has his birthday there…
