One of the most-praised Sunday roast spots in Hove, with a beer garden regulars love for its quiet, secluded corners. Famous for warm scotch eggs with a runny yolk from Canhams butchers next door, though a few note you're paying a premium (about £9) versus buying them raw from the butcher for around £4. Popular enough to need booking, especially for big screenings.
- Go for
- A quiet secluded pint or Sunday roast
- Heads up
- Scotch eggs cost more than buying raw from the butcher next door
What locals say
…there are soooooo many bars and clubs. Im older and don’t do a lot of clubbing these days, but check out reviews. Intend to stick to bars and pubs in hove. 8. Roast dinners if it’s a Sunday You’re travelling - The Howard, The Bell Tower, Seven Stars, The Connaught and Hove Place but can be pricey. Just a few ideas for you :)
I’ve seen a few breakups in Hove Place. The inside is often quiet on a nice day and you can pick a fairly secluded spot. The food is decent too.
It's one of the nicest areas around. I'm having a coffee on the terrace of the Flourpot Bakery at the top of First Ave right now and it's great. What else needs knowing? Waitrose/Tesco is nearest big shop, Mulberrys nearest corner shop, beach is lifeguarded at bottom of street. Hove Place pub has nice garden.
I also came here to say Hove Place. One thing though, the pub charges about £9 for a scotch egg, but if you walk 3 minutes round the corner you can buy them direct from the butcher for ~£4 (last time I was there).
