A dark, goth/rock-leaning independent pub on Farm Road in Hove, rated one of the best Sunday roasts in Brighton (vegan option included) and praised for Eastern European small plates and a good Bloody Mary. Good for dates, board games (there's a chess set) and groups with a private function room, though it's a Greene King pub so pints run pricier (around £7.80).

I have to include the Basketmakers and the Poets Ale and Smokehouse. I know they're in a little group but it is independent and truly local, but this is the place to correct me if I am wrong.
I've always thought it a travesty that there aren't any proper dingy goth bars in Brighton. The closest things I've found in the area are The Farm Tavern in Hove, and The Yellow Book in Brighton.

Lavash have great Middle Eastern wraps. Cafe Coho has nice…
