A well-loved, independently-owned neighbourhood pub in Hove praised for its huge board game collection, reasonably priced pizza and warm, cosy decor - regulars rate it for dates, quiz nights and reading by the fire. One or two say it can get uncomfortably warm inside.

The Albert: Right next to the station. Large pub with a good 'regular crowd' atmosphere. Good bar staff and land lord. Good drink selection. Solid outdoor seating out front with a small patio in the rear plus solid solid music venue upstairs. Not so good for the football. The Robin Hood: Smaller but great atmos. No outside seating but really solid selection of games to pick up and play at your table. Shakespeare's Head: Nice boozer with excellent selection of sausage and mash. Seriously good food. Nice outside seating out the front. The Hop Poles: Small pub with good drinks selection…

I also like the Bow Street Runner. It’s a wild card but if you like something more traditional you can’t go wrong: comfortable seats, a warm fire, lovely staff and customers. I agree with a fellow poster that The Hand in Hand in Kemptown…
