Long-running local favourite for sushi and Japanese small plates, with particular praise for the vegan tempura, gluten-free handling and a solo-friendly conveyor belt. The membership card (roughly £24/year for 50% off Mon/Tue, and vegan dishes Wed) comes up again and again as excellent value, though a couple of people note prices have crept up and it's not everyone's idea of Brighton's best restaurant.

If you’re able to get a 5:30 booking at Bincho Yakitori do it. Absolutely incredible yakitori spot - casual but perfect food. These are all nice too: O’Shio, Goemon, Shogun and moshimo I left Brighton 4 years ago and still try to get to bincho whenever I’m down - I miss it so much…
…range of inventive dishes that give you that 'goddamn' moment. Reliable restaurant to take others to: Food For Friends. Some great pasta dishes there. Quirky: No Catch. A vegan fish and chip place. Chips are great, 'fish' is remarkably good. Good vegan options: Moshimo sushi, Halisco Mexican, Shanxxi…
Get membership at Moshimo. Something like £24 a year but then you get 50% off food for you and one other person on Monday, Tuesday (and if you're eating vegan food Wednesday too). The vegan range is amazing and it's incredible value with 50% off. You'll get a whole wooden boat of vegan sushi for just a tenner!…
Not to spanner in the works, but we went to Moshimo recently and it genuinely was awful. Maybe it was a bad chef or just an off day but everything was squelchy. O'Shio is probably a better bet.
