100% would send a mate. Still recommended in 2026.
Consistently rated among Brighton's very best restaurants, with several Redditors calling it the top spot in the city for food quality and value for money. A go-to for anniversaries and romantic dates, serving Latin American food (not strictly Mexican despite the name recognition), though a few flag it as pricier than average.

- Pricier than most - save it for a special occasion
What locals say
If you’re willing to venture out towards Hove and you’re looking for a night out of food then you won’t find better than Palmito and Fourth & Church. In town, Burnt Orange, 64 Degrees are amongst my faves. The Golden Pineapple always has an interesting food concession on the go as well.
For Greek. Nostos Archipelagos Olive Grove Mexican. La Choza Palmito Carlito burrito Halisco All in no order. Brighton has a ton of amazing independent restaurants which normally trump the chains.
Bincho, palmito, plateau. Unlikely to get a table this late in the day unfortunately. But the real answer here is Furna - possibly the best food I’ve ever eaten, we’ll worth the money!
If you like fine dining, I think the best overall is Furna. Etch is popular too. If you like something lively, Bincho, Halisco and Palmito are all great. If you like stylish/moody decor and small sharing plates, Flint House/Embers/Burnt Orange/Med are good. Asian laces worth a look. Oshio (korean/Japanese), Mr Wang hotpot, Namo eats, Unithai, Soju, Goemon, Shaanxi, Anakuma.
