The Roundhill on Ditchling Road is a fully plant-based pub loved for its Sunday roasts, award-winning vegan menu, and weekday deals like £10 Pasta Wednesdays. It's a firm local favourite, but a couple of recent (2025) threads report trouble behind the scenes, including a chef allegedly fired without pay and a booking cancelled at the last minute because there was no chef on shift.

Botanique is the best I've been to by a mile, one of the best restaurants I've been to in Brighton vegan or otherwise. Would also recommend Kusaki but don't bother with the sushi, and The Roundhill if you want something a bit more casual.

Their courgetti with pesto and mac n cheese is amazing too), - The Roundhill (fully vegan pub, the best Sunday roast in Brighton), - No Catch (vegan fish & chips owned by Earthling Ed, plenty of vegan seafood options) Mid: - Vurger (very good vegan burgers and shakes, i recommend the hunny chicken burger), - Oowee (another vegan fast food place next to Vurger. …the interiors aren't the cosiest (but still fine). Bonsai Plant Kitchen is the best food ever, Japanese fusion-y small plates, you'll need to book and it's also pricey, but worth it. Purezza is lovely for lunch or dinner too. No Catch if very unique if you're down that way, Roundhill is my local and is always delicious, with roasts on weekends and some individual menus through the week (e.g. £10 pasta Wednesdays). Lots to find and I've just mentioned the vegan/veggie place, plenty more that aren't exclusive but have great options. Hope you enjoy your visit!

The owner in question is Adam Smith at the roundhill. There's a reason the quality has went down, old chef Scott was an absolute star and fired without pay as far as I know.
