Bottle shop

Seven Cellars

Best bottle shop in town for wine and beer

7.4/10

Local score

No. 12 of 43 shops on r/brighton, from 22 locals across 17 threads.

95% would send a mate. Still recommended in 2026.

Consistently rated Brighton's best wine and craft beer shop, with branches at Seven Dials and Brighton Station, praised for its range of whisky, bourbon, mead, sake, non-alcoholic wine and rare spirits like Tuaca. Handy for topping up before BYOB Red Snapper next door, though the Seven Dials branch is reportedly at risk of losing its lease as Co-op expands into the unit next door.

What locals say

Red Snapper for some great Thai food, with a bonus of Seven Cellars a couple of doors down for some great wine (Red Snapper is BYOB)

All good suggestions. 2 for 1 Burger Night (Thursday?) at The French Horn is good. I'll second Red Snapper for Thai, especially since it's BYO and Seven Cellars is right next door. Red Snapper IS cash only though, so make sure you have some cash.

Definitely planning a visit there anyway. There are a few great places to get take home sake in Manchester, and I have some good online stores, but Seven Cellars still looks to have some stuff I've never seen before!

Incidentally are there any good off-licences for whisky? The Whisky Shop never has anything I want. Seven Cellars is the only other one I know of. Waitrose seems to have the best selection.
