Praised for spacious, often-quiet branches (Ship Street, Kensington Gardens) good for working solo or having a chat, with Kensington Gardens' food singled out as fantastic. But there's a recurring complaint about the owners ('a bit shitty', some boycotting) and inconsistent in-store coffee quality despite good roasted beans, plus wifi isn't always public.

- A quiet corner to work with a laptop
- Heads up
- Some boycott over the owners; wifi often not public

Jubilee Library. It’s open 11-5 on Sundays. It’s pretty big and the top floor is usually very quiet. Most cafes will be busy today, but the Trading Post Coffee (Ship St) is large enough for you to find a more secluded space.
Do you know Trading Post coffee on ship street? The Trading Post near the clock tower had a big upstairs area that's usually pretty quiet during the week. The Pelicano on Lewes road is also quite spacious but a bit further out of the city…
Bond Street follow in no particular order. All the above are my faves in Central/Lanes/North Laine but there are *loads* more amazing places if you fancy a sojourn out of the main hubs of the city. Flour Pot also does a lovely coffee and are an independent chain. I avoid Wolfox/Trading Post because of the owners being a bit shitty, (*especially* why I avoid Wolfox), which is a shame because their coffee is nice.
