A well-liked, cosy pub in the Laines, good for a quieter pint, heated outdoor booths, and Wednesday blues nights, with happy hour Mon-Thu 3-8pm. Mostly rated as good value (around £16 for a pint of ale and a prosecco), though one Redditor was stung for over £28 for three Guinnesses.

There's a lot of live music in Brighton every night of the week. I go to Paris House on Thursdays for Jazz, The Victory for Blues on Wednesday. Depends on what you like.
You could try some of the quieter pubs if that's your usual go-to but you're finding them too loud? I'd recommend The Victory for a central quieter pub. It's quite nice to sit in one of the booths outside there (they have heaters). Alternatively, you could go a bit out to Hove/Portslade for quieter pubs. For privacy/quiet, you might like the outdoor train booths (with heating and more enclosed like a shed almost) at The Railway…
The Victory pub in town is very accomodating. Easy to get to as fairly close to the bus stops and taxi rank. Very lovely owner. Second cafe Rust as it's a gorgeous setting and most of their venues have a lil garden. Can be a bit more pricey though. Or Hoogley tea lodge near Preston park. Great food and setting,…
Went into The Victory last Wednesday - ordered three Guinness and it came to over 28 quid. I actually went back to the bar and said "is Guinness 9 quid?" Got a polite, "Yes" I recommend every go to the Fiddler's Elbow just around the corner from The Victory. Still not recovered.
