Black History, Our History: BARCO at the Brighton Centre

A free Black History Month weekend of talks, workshops, local organisations, food, music and performances over two floors of The Wing.

BARCO is taking over The Wing at the Brighton Centre for Black History Month, on Saturday 10 October from 11am to 9.30pm and Sunday 11 October from 11am to 5pm.

Over two floors there are workshops and talks, a showcase of local organisations and businesses, a creative space, food, music and theatre.

On Saturday, Brighton Book Festival hosts an author panel at 1.15pm, and Stand Up to Racism runs a book launch and a Black History policing panel. BARCO leads a discussion of the carnival theme at 3.30pm. From 5.30pm the evening turns to music, with BN1 Arts, Audioactive and then KTL until 9.30pm.

On Sunday, Black at Sussex talks about Black history at the University of Sussex, Blackademia gives a lecture and AFLO. the poet runs a creative writing session.

Tickets are free, but you need to register.
