Gary Kemp and Simon Halfon on Brian Epstein and The Beatles
Gary Kemp and co-author Simon Halfon talk about their book on the world around Beatles manager Brian Epstein, which began with his address book.
Gary Kemp’s new book started with an address book. When the songwriter and musician came across the pocket-sized book kept by Beatles manager Brian Epstein, he became fascinated by the names inside, Mick Jagger and David Bailey among them. With the filmmaker and art director Simon Halfon, he has written 1967: The World of Brian Epstein and The Beatles.
The two talk about it on the 5x15 stage at The Old Market: Epstein’s influence, and the 1960s world that surrounded the band.
Doors open at 6.15pm and it starts at 7pm, with unreserved seating. Tickets are £22.50, or £42.50 with the book, plus a £2 venue levy. Under-16s must come with an adult.
