Brighton Dome Comedy Festival starts 16 October: the shows, dates and prices
Tom Davis plays the Concert Hall on 16 October and Sam Campbell has two nights there on 24 and 25 October. This year the Dome has partnered with Komedia.
The Brighton Dome Comedy Festival opens on Friday 16 October and runs until Sunday 25 October. This year the Dome has teamed up with Komedia, so the 10-day programme fills the Concert Hall, the Corn Exchange and the Studio Theatre at the Dome, plus Komedia’s Basement and Studio.
At Brighton Dome

Friday 16 October: Tom Davis brings Spudgun to the Concert Hall at 7.30pm (£29.50). He co-hosts the podcast Wolf and Owl with Romesh Ranganathan and starred in King Gary on BBC One.

Friday 16 October: Celya AB, a writer on Saturday Night Live UK, plays We Must Stop Meeting Like This in the Studio Theatre at 7pm (£22). It’s a show about breaking free from shame.

Friday 16 October: Catherine Bohart’s Borrowing Trouble is in the Corn Exchange at 8.30pm (£21). The Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee’s new show is about her birthright, “all encompassing, generational worry”.

Saturday 17 October: the All My Friends Day Disco is in the Concert Hall from 3pm to 8pm. Elis James, John Robins and Dave Masterman DJ together for the first time in over two years, playing indie and pop from the 80s to now. It’s £25.50 to stand in the stalls or £21.50 for a reserved seat in the circle.

Sunday 18 October: The Blindboy Podcast Live comes to the Concert Hall at 7.30pm (£34 to £49), with Blindboy Boatclub and a surprise guest.

Sunday 18 October: Jimeoin brings Ballyhoo! to the Corn Exchange at 7.30pm (£26.50).

Wednesday 21 October: Maisie Adam plays Whatsherface in the Concert Hall at 7.30pm (£29.50). Brighton Dome calls her “Brighton’s own Maisie Adam”.

Thursday 22 October: Simon Amstell’s I Love It Here is in the Concert Hall at 7.30pm. We wrote about it here.

Friday 23 October: Nish Kumar brings Angry Humour From a Really Nice Guy to the Concert Hall at 7.30pm (£29.50).

Friday 23 October: Katherine Ryan talks to Chanté Joseph about her new book, Firstborn Daughter, in the Corn Exchange at 7.30pm. Tickets are £44 and each one comes with a copy of the book.

Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October: Sam Campbell plays Kid Giblet in the Concert Hall at 8pm (£32, or £27 for concessions). His Saturday 24 October show is captioned.

Saturday 24 October: Stamptown, hosted by Zach Zucker, starts at 9.30pm in the Corn Exchange (£37.50, or £29.50 for concessions). It brings together alternative comedians, clowns and cabaret acts, and it is strictly 18+.
On 11 October the booking pages for Tom Davis, Celya AB, Maisie Adam, Sam Campbell and Jimeoin said availability was limited.
Jazz Emu plays The Pleasure Is All Yours in the Corn Exchange on Friday 16 October at 6pm (£26). Stevie Martin brings Clout to the Corn Exchange on Saturday 17 October at 7pm (£24). Rosie Holt appears as her MP alter ego in The Illegal Aliens Have Landed! on Sunday 25 October at 7.30pm (£24). The cartoonists Modern Toss have an exhibition in the Dome’s Founders Room for the whole festival.
At Komedia
Komedia’s festival nights include John Crace: What The Hell Just Happened on Sunday 18 October and Raising the Roof 2 on Monday 19 October. That one is a fundraiser for YMCA Brighton with Joe Wilkinson and Angela Barnes. Phil Ellis: Bath Mat is on Tuesday 20 October. Kim Blythe: Puzzle is on Friday 23 October. Funny Women Live In Brighton is on Saturday 24 October.
