Brighton Fringe 2027 opens to artists and venues on Wednesday at noon

The 2027 festival runs 7 May to 6 June. Registering early means a show is in the first wave of public ticket sales.

Artists and venues can sign up for Brighton Fringe 2027 from 12pm on Wednesday 14 October. The festival runs from Friday 7 May to Sunday 6 June 2027.

The Fringe is open access, so anyone who wants to perform can. The 2026 festival presented 272 premieres, 864 events and 2,814 performances, the Brighton Journal reported.

According to Laura Aiton, the Fringe’s Artist and Venue Manager, registering early means a show is included in the first wave of public ticket sales.

Registration is online, through Eventotron. You can start one with just an event name and an email address. To complete it you need a confirmed venue (unless the event is digital), your dates, times and ticket prices, an image, and a description for the web and app listings.

The Fringe’s fees page gives its 2026 registration fees. Standard registration for an unticketed event was £59. Paid events were charged by total capacity, up to £229 for 1,000 or more. Registering by the early bird deadline brought a discount. The box office charges 6.5% plus VAT commission on each ticket sold. Events raising money for charity can get 10% off the fee.

Bursaries cover the registration fee, and some add money, mentoring or marketing help. If you win one after paying, the fee is refunded in full. The Brighton Fringe Staff Bursaries for 2026 included Elin’s Bursary for Neurodiverse Artists and Laura’s Low Income Bursary. The Fringe says it will update its bursaries page as new ones are announced.

The Fringe is holding a launch at The Old Market in Hove on Thursday 15 October, from 6pm to 8pm, with guests asked to arrive from 5.30pm. It is a chance to meet the new team and hear updates and future plans.

Three things are due to be announced: a bigger support hub for artists and venues, a new series of workshops on self-producing, and a first look at the 2027 artwork by Brighton artist Dave Pop!. He is “chuffed to bits” to be involved, the Journal reported.

To attend, contact the Fringe’s Artist and Venue Services team. The Artist Services phone line is 01273 764 907.
