A long-running Brighton institution known for its farmhouse hash with a choice of meats, described as ridiculously huge portions that are hard to finish. Seating is famously tight and cramped by the windows, and while most call it a favourite for fry-ups and coffee, one reviewer found it overpriced with nothing special.
- Go for
- A proper fry-up or breakfast hash
- Heads up
- Seating is cramped; a few find it overhyped

Billies Cafe on Hampton place. Been there for over 30 years and you get a massive plate of hash (the potato kind) with your choice of a range of meat / veggie options. Delicious. also Morelli Zorelli has the best pizza imo. Sourdough base and a good range of fake meats if you’re veggie.

You may have to queue for a table. Posh/Best meaty lunch: The Coal Shed - Expensive but laughably good. Posh/Best veggie lunch: Food for Friends/Terra Terra - Both upper mid price point. Both great.
