A well-liked Seven Dials pub, especially known for its large upstairs function room (often free or cheap to hire) that regulars use for weddings, birthdays and big group get-togethers. It's rated as much improved since a refurb, does fantastic roasts, and is seen as a safe, quiet spot to drink alone, though a few mention certain beers like Beavertown or Guinness are pricey.
- Go for
- Big groups, wedding receptions and Sunday roasts
- Heads up
- Some beers (Beavertown, Guinness) are pricey here

Good Companions, Hove. I used to go there in the late 90s. Objectively it’s far better now than it was then. The Cow, seven dials. Can’t remember what it was called before, it was some “pre club bar” type place. 100 times better now. Honestly I’d say the opposite is true, most of the pubs I used to go to in the 90s…
Red snapper is supposed to be good. They do fantastic roasts at the Good Companions and the Shakespeare's head. Burgers at The Cow are decent but pricey. Also, last week I went to The Pond for Taiwanese food and it was fucking fantastic, not to mention reasonably…
Good Companions is my always go to. You can have a chat, chill and drink or, my preference, read in peace over a pint. Never had any hint of aggravation in the years I've been around Seven Dials.
Beavertown beers have always been more expensive than your standard or locally produced stuff, it's over £8 in the Good Companions. I don't drink it for that reason, it's too expensive for me. Also New Unity is a Laines Pub and they tend to be expensive. Prince Albert is not. Avoid Laines if you want a cheaper pint:…
