Widely rated as having the best Sunday roast in Brighton, with multiple people calling it the best pub roast they've ever had, and strong veggie/vegan options too. It's a cosy, traditional Hanover local with a great beer selection and table beer on tap, plus free upstairs function rooms with a patio for hire, just a bit of a walk from the centre.

Maybe a dumb question, but best at what? Fortune of war is a great location, Basketmakers is a great traditional pub with good beer, Haus on the Hill is a great little traditional vibe with a great selection but out of the centre (same for the Independent, but that's a cooler vibe with an even bigger selection of craft), The Grays/Geese further down the hill have great food, The Howard has REALLY great food. The Evening Star is close to the…
The Geese on Southover Street do a great roast, as does the Haus On The Hill, also on Southover, right at the top. In fact the one I had at Haus On The Hill a few months back is possibly the best pub roast I've ever had. I didn't want it to end.
Do you like beer? Unbarred might be new in the last 5 years. Hanover now has The Greys, Haus on the Hill and The Independent which have become more beery over the last few years. The Greys and Haus do fantastic food.
…high end, all the Ginger restaurants are great - Gingerman, Ginger Pig and Flint House. I also really like Issac At. I’ve always been disappointed with 64 Degrees. Manjus is great for authentic Indian. Family run. Kitgum is a lovely family run Ugandan Indian. The Greys and Haus on the Hill do amazing food. greys is more Mediterranean and Haus is Bajen.
