A long-standing, low-key Thai spot on Preston Street praised for authentic flavours and good service, with a 2-course lunch around £13-14. Several call it a hidden gem that doesn't get much press despite being consistently good.

Kanok Thai on Preston Street. My favourite spot as someone who lived in Thailand for nearly two decades. Very authentic, delicious, good service. 2 course lunch for 13.95.

Kanok Thai is a hidden gem even though its on preston street. Never heard anyone rave about it but it seems to have been there forever and when i tried it i realised why. Just gorgeous flavours. Then obviously Bincho Yakitori everyone knows is incredible. Japanese barbeque.

Sea life centre is good, haven't been there since I was a kid. Food wise depends what you like, China Gardens is a great Chinese place, Kanok Thai is good for Thai food. Franco Manca for pizza or fatto mano. Not many great Indian places but Vel is quite nice. I think there's mini golf on the seafront if that's still running. Quite a bit to do in Brighton, enjoy your stay.

…in the north lanes does really good breakfast but it’s best if you get there early ! kanok thai on preston street is really good and pretty reasonably priced. pompoko is also amazing but it’s cash only and is very popular so you might have to wait. fatto a mano is a staple pizza place and it’s really good too, i’d recommend the one in the lanes over london road.
