La Choza

Once-loved Mexican, now pricier and inconsistent

A long-time Gloucester Road favourite for Mexican street food that a lot of regulars say has gone downhill since the pandemic, with complaints about rude ownership, forgotten orders, and steep prices (£75 for two called 'ludicrous'). Longtime fans still crave the naga chicken and burritos, but many now prefer Carlito Burrito or Casa Azul for better value and flavour.

Heads up
Service and quality have slipped since the pandemic, still pricey

Yeah, don’t tell anyone but The Great Eastern is five minutes from the station and a great place to spend a few hours. A proper pub, no food, great music, games, good lighting, friendly staff. A burrito from La Choza (nearby) is a good way to round off the evening.
