Hove's favourite sourdough pizza, run by a Calabrian family

7.7/10

Local score

No. 55 of 300 places to eat on r/brighton, from 36 locals across 28 threads.

91% would send a mate. Still recommended in 2026.

Regularly named among Brighton's best pizza alongside Fatto a Mano, with fans pointing to the sourdough base, good-value marinara (£7, with olives) and huge portions from a friendly Calabrian family. Delivery is said to be less consistent than eating in, and the gluten-free base has been criticised as dried out and inedible.

£6 ‘We ❤️ falafel’ wrap is great. The Gardener on Gardener Street is pay as you feel you can get a v decent meal there cheap, homemade style food. Morelli Zorelli in Hove is good value amazing quality pizza, I just get a marinara sometimes (comes with olives) for £7 and it’s soooo good. There’s a buffet style place called Iydea in North Lanes that’s good value and you could eat loads there! Pompoko is quite decent value (cash only). And Billies for a hash…

Billies Cafe on Hampton place. Been there for over 30 years and you get a massive plate of hash (the potato kind) with your choice of a range of meat / veggie options. Delicious. also Morelli Zorelli has the best pizza imo. Sourdough base and a good range of fake meats if you’re veggie.

100% Nanninella. We tried them after reading good reviews on this subreddit and it’s now our favourite pizza in Brighton. Used to be Morelli Zorelli’s but feel like they’re not as good anymore. The dough is so soft and the pizza just generally feels really good quality and authentic Edit: sorry, I just saw you specified you want a big pizza, not just the best tasting 😅. So my suggestion might not be best for that, but will leave my answer up…
