Widely recommended for its King's Road seafront location, especially for cocktails and dinner timed an hour before sunset for panoramic beach views, and as a wedding/event venue with a terrace and dedicated coordinator. But it's not unanimous: one commenter calls it 'terrible' and says it constantly changes hands, and another describes awful, unprofessional staff at a wedding there.

The population of Brighton gets an extra 300,000 people over Pride weekend, so restaurants may be well booked up in advance. Make reservations. Personal recommendations: Cocktails and light bites at The Seahorse restaurant, on the seafront. Try to time it an hour before sunset so you get to watch the sun sink slowly into the haze. The Lion & Lobster pub in Hove for a very typical English Sunday roast lunch experience. Book a table at least 24 hours in advance, as on Sunday it will be rammed. Do a paid tour…
The Seahorse restaurant on the seafront is always good for impressing visitors. Good food at reasonable prices, but it's the location which is special; seating beside a curve of widows with uninterrupted views up and down the beach. Time your visit for an hour before sunset and you get a great show* as the sun sinks…
Cabaret: try Ironworks. Comedy: Komedia does a Friday & Sat night comedy show, book in advance. Restaurant: The Seahorse, on the beach promenade. Aim to arrive about an hour before sunset. If the weather's good, you get great views up and down the beach as the sun sets. Book ahead. Secret cocktail bar: Valentino's by the Theatre Royal. Knock on the door to be let in. Another secret cocktail bar: Twisted Lemon, off…
The seahorse is terrible and constantly changes hands with its only success based on location. Salt Room, Embers, Copper Clam and Coal Room are all great. Our favourite is The Urchin - a shellfish pub. Really relaxed with amazing food!
