Praised repeatedly for its katsu curry and ramen (one vegetarian fan calls the tofu the best in town), plus gyoza in chilli oil - good value and well suited to solo diners. Not everyone agrees though: one commenter doesn't rate it at all, another says the interior isn't up to much, and a couple of older comments claim quality has slipped from what it used to be.
- Go for
- Solo ramen or a decent Japanese katsu curry
- Heads up
- A few say quality has dropped and the interior is plain

Kenny's Rockin soul cafe. It's cheap and cheerful (ish) for brighton. And it's cute but can be packed out on the w/e. Also a fan of Pink Moon and Shogun Ramen (really good ramen small joint and perfect for a single diner).
If you'll accept Japanese curry Shogun Ramen does the best katsu curry Otherwise I think it's name is Bhaji? I never personally ordered from there but my flatmates always ordered from there and it was very good from what I've…
Shogun Ramen is THE BEST ramen in town!! Only god (and they) know how to get their tofu tasting that good.
Oshio is very good for Japanese/Korean. China Garden is also a very good experience for Chinese food and I'll add that the staff there are great. For Thai there is Lemongrass in Hove that is very nice. Shogun Ramen is very good for Ramen but not that nice inside. Somebody else also recommended the big bowl on Preston street and I can vouch for that too! Good luck.
