100% would send a mate. Still recommended in 2026.

Consistently named Brighton's best Thai restaurant, with several regulars saying every dish over years of visits has been excellent. It's family-run and friendly, not too expensive, provides free water, and has good vegan options while still feeling like a proper sit-down restaurant.

? Your list is solid, can't argue with any of it. Pride is always great, but it is significantly more corporate than it used to be, even recently. I'd strongly recommend the following - Drinks/general evening spots: Loading Bar One Under Twisted Lemon Food: Bincho Yakitori Siam Siam Burnt Orange Cin Cin Village (breakfast) Tuntun's (super cheap Bengali food) Abysinnia (super cheap Ethiopian food) Music: Green Door Store Patterns Dust Alphabet Nature: Under cliff walk (starts at Brighton Marina) Seven Sisters (!) Gars is great for Chinese. Giggling Squid in either Hove or the lanes are both great Thai food, as is Siam Siam. Heard great things about Bincho for Japanese but haven't been myself. I don't really know about particularly upmarket places though, in my experience the best Asian food comes from places that are anything but…

Siam Siam on Preston Street is my favourite. I have been going for years and every dish I've had has been excellent. They are family run and really friendly.

…had a more casual vibe, but the food is top notch, and reasonably priced. Also Tookta's is great, more of a café with great food feel, and you'll need to book. It's full of regulars, and with good reason, the patrons are friendly, funny and passionate about their food. Siam Siam is great if you want a more restaurant feel, and they have some excellent vegan options too.
