Albion v Crystal Palace at 2pm: team news and how to get to the Amex
Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer and Kaoru Mitoma are not available. Park and ride opens from 11am, and buses run a normal Sunday service.
Albion play Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the Amex today, Sunday 18 October, kick-off 2pm. The game is sold out and is live on Sky Sports. Albion are going for a fourth league win in a row.
Fabian Hurzeler has no new injuries after Thursday’s 4-0 win over Kauno Zalgiris. Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer and Kaoru Mitoma are all out. “With Yankuba Minteh and Mats Wieffer we could see quite a quick return,” Hurzeler said at his pre-match press conference. For Mitoma, he said: “I hope he’s back for the international break, but we have to be more patient.” Pascal Struijk was given an extra day of recovery, and Hurzeler said a decision on him would follow. For Palace, Axel Disasi is suspended. Rob Jones is the referee.
Match and season tickets work as travel passes on buses and trains in the club’s free travel zone, from 3.5 hours before kick-off. You have to start your journey home within 3.5 hours of the final whistle. Brighton & Hove Buses and Stagecoach are running a normal Sunday service. Some trains leaving Falmer after the game will not stop at Moulsecoomb or London Road.
The park and ride sites at Mill Road (BN1 8ZF) and Brighton Racecourse (BN2 9XZ) open at 11am, first come, first served. The last bus back leaves the stadium 90 minutes after the final whistle.
Car parks must be booked in advance, at £20 a car. If you use Car Park C at the University of Sussex, go in by the Stanmer Park entrance and walk to the Amex through the underpass. There is no street parking for fans. Streets near the Amex have residents’ parking schemes, and enforcement officers will be on patrol.
The official drop-off and pick-up point is Car Park 5 at the university, next to the sports hall, with a 60-minute limit. You cannot stop on Village Way or Woollards Way. Motorbikes park at the top of Bennetts Field.
After the game, stewards will send fans heading for the coach park, park and ride and car parks clockwise round the stadium. Coaches will leave about 15 minutes later than usual.
