Season Finale raceday and the BITE Sussex Waiters Race
The last Flat meeting of the year at Brighton Racecourse opens with local waiters racing 200 metres with loaded trays, for the charity Justlife.
Brighton Racecourse closes its 2026 Flat season on Thursday 15 October, and BITE Sussex opens the day with its Waiters Race. Bartenders and waiters from restaurants in and around Brighton and Hove race 200 metres, each balancing a tray of food and drink.
Racegoers can bet on their favourite waiter or restaurant. The money goes to Justlife, which supports people living in temporary accommodation.
Gates open at 11.53am. The first race is at 1.53pm and the last at 5.18pm.
Advance admission is £18, on sale until 12 October. Groups of eight or more pay £15 each. BITE Sussex has an offer of £10 in advance through its website.
