Vagabond self-pour wine bar to open on Duke Street in November

The bar is taking part of the former Browns Brasserie site in the Lanes and will offer more than 100 wines by the glass.

Vagabond Brighton, a self-pour wine bar, will officially open on Monday 2 November at 3-4 Duke Street, Verge Magazine reported. Vagabond’s own site says it is coming to Duke Street “this November”.

The bar takes part of the former Browns Brasserie, which closed in May 2025 after 52 years. Flat Iron has the other part of the building.

Customers pour their own wine from machines, choosing a 25ml taster, a half glass or a full glass from more than 100 wines. Some are English wines made at Vagabond’s Urban Winery in Canada Water, London, from Sussex and South East grapes. Food is small plates, including padrón peppers, Ibérico croquetas and hanger steak tagliata.

The bar is on two floors, with 79 seats inside and 18 outside, and a private dining room for tastings and group bookings. It is Vagabond’s first new bar outside London since Birmingham in 2021.

People who sign up for preview bookings get 50% off food from Wednesday 28 October to Sunday 1 November.
