100% would send a mate. Still recommended in 2026.
Lewes Road favourite repeatedly named Brighton's best Chinese takeaway, famous for its "veggie chicken balls" and vegan fake meats, plus well-regarded classics like pancake rolls and a chicken satay starter. One regular notes collection orders are ready in about 15 minutes, but a delivery order once took ages.
- Go for
- Vegan-friendly Chinese, best collected not delivered
- Heads up
- Delivery can be slow - collection is much quicker
What locals say
Oriental Takeaway on Lewes Rd is always my go-to, especially if you've got vegetarians in the party. That said, I almost always go to pick up; ordered delivery one time and it took ages, whereas a collection order is always ready in 15 minutes.
…vegan hot dogs and "chicken poppers" which are literally to die for. I love the Pipeline they do a great chicken satay burger omg. Also just other places I really love are PIZZAME (they do huge pizzas and you can get loads of different vegan meats on them) and I fucking adore Oriental Takeaway it does amazing fake meats and you can get Chinese takeaway dishes with the fake meat (their sweet n sour chicken balls are something else) ALSO what the pitta does an amazing vegan kebab. I know you didn't ask for all this I am just super passionate about all the amazing food I can get in Brighton…
If you’re a basic bitch you need to check out ‘Oriental Takeaway’. The best mother fucking veggie chicken balls in town.
Oriental Takeaway on Lewes Road is really good. I'm a sucker for their pancake rolls. Chicken satay starter is excellent. Don't think I've had a duff dish from there really.
